2nd Annual Ethanol Logistics Conference
September 11, 2009FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Biofuels Institute Announces Agenda for 2nd Annual Ethanol Logistics Conference
Des Moines, Iowa– September 11, 2009—The Biofuels Institute today announced the agenda for the 2nd Annual Ethanol Logistics Conference to be held September 24-25, 2009, at the Des Moines Marriot Downtown, Des Moines, Iowa.
With margins as tight as ever, ethanol, transportation, and logistics professionals are trying to operate at the highest efficiency and utilize the industry’s best practices. This year’s conference will feature ethanol logistics experts from within the industry and academia discussing a variety of current issues, including:
Terminals, Trucking, and Transloading Panel with Woodie McDuffie (KAG), Chad Conn (Eco-Energy), Kelley Minnehan (RSI Logistics), & Jeff Eliason (CHS)
The BYOethanol Initiative by Ron Lamberty (The American Coalition for Ethanol)
Logistics Considerations in a Feasibility Study by Pete Moss (Frazier, Barnes, & Associates) The Freight Rail Panel with Casey Carmody (CSX), Keeley Bliss (BNSF), Lauree Brown (DME Railroad) & Byron Stewart (Hawkeye Gold, LLC)
The Economics of Utilizing Barges by Gabe Forir (American Commercial Lines)
Improving Productivity & Efficiency Through Automation with Dave Stevenson (ShipXpress) and Kelly Blair (Green Plains Renewable Energy)
In addition to this substantial presentation series and panel discussions, there will be significant opportunities for networking with some of the nation’s top ethanol & bio-diesel companies, logistics professionals, & research experts. “This is not a large trade show,” says Pete Cook of Biofuels Institute. “Rather, it is a conference which focuses on top notch, targeted education and networking. Over 92% of last year’s attendees said they planned on attending again in 2009, which demonstrates how beneficial this format is.”
Anyone involved in ethanol production, terminal operations, ethanol transportation and distribution, marketing, and plant design is encouraged to attend.
